Palm Royale needed three edits for a digital Emmy FYC campaign as glitzy as the titular Palm Beach Ball!

Video Editing, Visual Effects
The popular fruit-themed tech company and TV streamer tapped marketing agency Jellyfish to promote Palm Royale, their hilarious TV show starring Kristen Wiig and Carroll Burnett, to Emmy voters during the contentious award season. After a scrappy shoot day involving all of the network's star actors in Los Angeles, it was time for post-production across the country in New York.
As Jellyfish's senior video editor, I worked with a team of producers, designers, and editors to pump out three short-form deliverables in less than one week. This new challenge required a new workflow that was a step above our usual (and oftentimes sluggish) Box sync workflow. Utilizing LucidLink to have instant access to TB of dailies from the opposite coast, and crank out cuts with timely feedback from stakeholders on Frame.io.
Some shots also required light VFX work in After Effects, which mostly consisted of creating and tracking in plates to cover up the human cat wranglers in the Catwalk piece.
We managed to deliver three star-studded FYC campaigns, each in multiple resolutions for each social channel, to the client in record time. The videos performed brilliantly across all platforms. And best of all, Palm Royale ended winning 3 Emmy Awards that year, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series. Now that's what I call a KPI!
Even while managing five accounts, Dylan never missed a deadline—always delivering high-quality work. His collaborative approach and willingness to go above and beyond made him an invaluable partner in bringing our projects to life. I can’t recommend him enough to any team looking for a standout editor.
