How I Helped L’Oréal’s Makeup.com Dominate Social Feeds with Viral Vertical Videos

L'Oréal, worldwide leader in cosmetics and haircare, needed help producing a steady stream of UGC and influencer vertical-video content for their Makeup.com social channels across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Under the direction of the incredible content team at Jellyfish, I signed on to be their lead video editor.
How I Helped
Makeup.com needed 7-10 original quick-turn vertical videos per week, each video usually from a different creator, influencer, or producer per deliverable. To reliably hit the demanding cadence, I created a new workflow utilizing Monday.com, custom tooling and After Effects automations while editing 1-3 makeup tutorials, trending posts, and viral memes per day.
The constant nature of the work also led to constant analyzing and re-assessing video formats to hone in on the perfect thumb-stopping video formats that would succeed in a crowded feed.
The Results
Makeup.com's follower count continues to soar as many of my video edits overperformed, with the top videos exceeding 500K views on Instagram alone. Due to the continued fantastic performance of all video assets across L'Oréal's "dot com" verticals, L'Oréal has renewed it's contract with Jellyfish for continued management and production of the channels.
