XCharge North America manufactures high-power, intelligent solutions for electric vehicles on the US power grid. As XCharge built more and more chargers across the US, they quickly realized they didn't have enough photo and video coverage of each installation for their marketing efforts. They teamed up with Tuba Time Creative on a multi-day, multi-city journey to document their goods.
How I Helped
I packed up my camera bag and booked multi-city flight tickets from New York to Chicago IL, Richmond VA, and Dallas TX over the course of 3 days. At each destination, I rented an EV and drove to every new XCharge installation in order to document the new chargers in their natural environments, and sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
After gathering tons of footage (and racking up a ton of Hertz loyalty points), I headed back to my post-production studio in Brooklyn to cut it all together.
The Results
Videos and photos shot on the journey have been used in all sorts of XCharge collateral, articles in the media, and even displayed live at XCharge booths at a variety of conferences. Aside from cutting together a pulse-pounding sizzle reel, I also cut the featured hero video on their website, and announcement videos for new exclusive partnerships. The TOI from just three days of solo shooting continues to pay dividends.
XCharge and TTC continue to have a great working relationship, and look forward to charging into the future.
